H&W Collection

Health & Wellbeing Collection

There is a huge evidence base around the value of reading to support health and wellbeing. The Library holds many books on a variety of topics which you can borrow for free as a member of the Library, to help you use reading to understand and manage your own health and wellbeing.

Topics include:

  • Coping with long term conditions
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Fitness and Exercise
  • Information for relatives and carers
  • Job seeking and employment
  • Meditation and mindfulness
  • Mental health in general
  • Self-esteem and confidence

You can find the health and wellbeing collection in the quiet area at the rear of the Library, where you will also find a comfy sofa and chairs for you to relax on while you read. There are also colouring activities, wordsearches and puzzles for you.
